Choose the filing route first
A consular telework visa and a residence application made while legally present in Spain are different procedures. A visa can be valid for up to one year; an eligible in-country residence authorisation may cover up to three years. Get the checklist for the route you can lawfully use.
Connect the work to the money
UGE asks for payslips or invoices from the three months before applying and matching bank evidence. The bank records should identify the income connected to the employment or professional contract used for the application. Keep a clear trail from the contract to the payment record rather than supplying unlabelled transfers.
Treat income as a formula, then confirm the amount
The current UGE rule is gross income of 200% of Spain’s current minimum wage, plus 75% for the first accompanying relative and 25% for each further relative. Official consular pages do not all show the same monetary interpretation. Confirm the amount for your filing authority rather than copying an old online figure.
Complete the rest of the file
Prepare the professional relationship, remote-work permission, company activity and qualification or experience evidence. Criminal-record certificates cover countries of residence in the last two years, alongside a declaration covering five years. Self-employed applicants must register with RETA; employees need Spanish social-security registration or an accepted treaty certificate explicitly covering remote work. Complete the required health cover, legalisation and Spanish translations. Employees work for foreign employers; Spanish professional activity is capped at 20% for self-employed applicants.
