How to apply

Apply from outside Thailand through Thai eVisa or the mission responsible for your location. Choose DTV workcation, submit the financial and professional evidence, and follow any additional requests from that mission.

What to keep in mind

  • Five-year visa validity is not five years of uninterrupted residence. Each entry permits up to 180 days.
  • Immigration may approve one extension of up to 180 days per entry. After the maximum stay, depart and re-enter while the DTV remains valid.
  • Pay the responsible mission's published local-currency visa fee; charges differ by mission.
  • Spouses and children under 20 use separate DTV applications. Confirm accepted sponsorship and funds evidence with the mission.
  • Remote work evidence must match the workcation purpose. Check Thai employment rules before accepting local employment.
  • London's September 2026 checklist requires permanent residence and a police certificate issued within six months. Savannakhet requires Lao nationality or permanent residence and police clearance from 31 August 2026. Confirm your own mission's rules before planning a filing.
